What is Budget Manager?
Budget Manager is an on-premise software for shared budget management for teams, SMEs, and multi-partner projects. The application runs on your own server — no cloud, no data sharing.
What is the difference between Base and Pro?
Base is the free edition for up to 3 users with an SQLite database. Pro (Standard, Pro, Enterprise) runs on PostgreSQL, supports more users, includes NGINX, and offers additional features such as the document vault.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Budget Manager is a fully local application. After installation, no internet connection is required for operation. Only the Pro license activation requires a one-time internet connection.
How many users can I set up?
Base = 3 users · Standard = 5 users · Pro = 10 users · Enterprise = 25 users. These are simultaneously active user accounts on one server.
Is my license time-limited?
No. All licenses have no expiry date. The optional maintenance package only extends entitlement to updates after the first year.
What happens to updates after one year?
Paid licenses receive free updates for 12 months. The current version can be used indefinitely afterwards. Paid upgrades to a new version are possible at any time — upgrade offers for existing customers are published as needed.
Which operating system does the software run on?
Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). A Linux or macOS port is not currently planned.
How do I back up my data?
All data is stored locally on your server. We recommend regular backups of the database directory. A built-in backup feature is planned for a future version.
Is there a free trial of Pro?
Not currently. Budget Manager Base is permanently free and lets you try out all core features. If you have questions before purchasing, feel free to contact us.
How do I receive my license key?
You will receive your license key automatically by email — usually within a few minutes of payment.
